Singapore!

The city I love and want to live in! It's a city you shop and eat in, my two favourite things!
Here's me and my mother walking the streets of Singapore.
We all took a trip to Sentosa Island, a man made island for the Singaporeans to come and relax!
here I am again..texting
We took a stroll in a Butterfly garden
the view from the cable cars to Sentosa Island, they are building a lot!

on our last day in Singapore I had the most delicious dumplings ever! It was little bits of heaving in my mouth...My mouths is watering just writing about them again...
I love shopping and eating...my next mission is to take photos of all the things I've bought!

Malaysia part III

With the risk of not having any readers left, I continue the pictures from Malaysia...I'm sorry, but I don't have anything crafty to share at the moment!

While on Langkawi we went on a tour among the mangrove trees I petted a Stingray!! That is my hands with the sunglasses and I'm contemplating what I've just did...
We saw eagles...
Some people hopped on a jetski, while others stayed in the shadow and slept...
and if you didn't realize it, we did not travel alone all the time. We had these two with us; my mother and brother! This is our new years dinner. We had the best prawns!
after a three course dinner we went down to the beach!

Have a nice Monday night!

Malaysia part II

On Christmas we went out for a nice dinner and ended up in a crowded mall...but I had a really good and spicy tom yum soup! I'm not crying in the photo, just enjoying a spicy soup...
From Kuala Lumpur we headed to Cameron Highlands were we had great Indian food on banana leafs as seen on the picture
In Cameron Highlands they had a huge tea plantation and other agricultural things like strawberries, orchids and bee farms. Here we had typical English tea with scones and a beautiful view...
It's the new green leafs they pick for making tea...
After Cameron Highlands we headed to a nice paradise island, Langkawi. The two first days we stayed at a resort and relaxed and did nothing...
We had one of these bungalows on the water with a nice view over the sea. Going from backpacking and living in strange places this was a nice "break" in our vacation...

Tomorrow Malaysia part III and the I'll show you pictures from Singapore, the best city in the world! (according to me)

Malaysia part I

OK, we are back and have been since Tuesday. But I had to go to work only to return home with a strange illness. For two days I had a severe migraine and vomiting for 2 hours (sorry for the details) But today I feel better, a bit weak but OK. So, now and for a couple of days forward I'll show pictures from our trip!
We started our long flight from London, Heathrow wiht some nice sushi on a conveyor belt!
I like sushi!
On our first day in Kuala Lumpur with found a high tower to climb up in to see the city from above...
Before we went up in the tower we had to walk around in the Winter park they had. Hihi, this was so much fun and so very warm....Not at all like winter...:-)
Here's the view; Petronas twin towers that used to be the worlds largest buildings...We where never up in those, only in the mall that's located on the first four levels where there is a mall...
On our second day we went to Batu caves which is a Hindu temple located in a limestone cave. Very beautiful!

Going through these pictures makes me want to go back. It was all to short! And the stay in KL had us thinking of maybe moving there one day ( in the nearby future) Since we meet up with one of Mr J's colleagues. How is also Swedish but have lived and worked there for about two years now. We could both work there. We'll see about those plans...

More pictures tomorrow!

Today I had my first day at work and need I say that I'm tired now and have been all night! But I think it's going to be fun teaching Swedish as a second language and by the looks of it I'm going to have Tuesdays off!

I've been given a award by Karin on the nordic craft blog
come and see who I'll give it to on Friday! :-) Here's a little new shop I have recently discovered: Snirkla it's a Swedish online shop and it has lots of eye candy!

Be back here in Friday!

A little more sewing...

As I said, I'm in a sewing mood at the moment. I had a go at soulemamas gratitude wrap, I didn't have any bias tape so it's not exactly the same....I think I'll try it some more before I'm completely satisfied with the result. I really like the idea!

Early tomorrow morning I'm leaving for a little weekend get away to Amsterdam together with my mother. This wrap also comes in handy for writing postcards on vacation and keeping a journal! A pocket for pens and one for the journal and one for the postcards!

I have some more links to share:
Buy fabric online, make a custom corkboard, or make this one instead!

See you on Monday with photos from our trip!

Knitting inspiration!

I've been flicking throw all my knitting books for a good project for our vacation. But didn't find anything good, then I turned to flickr instead and put together this inspiration mosaic!
Knitting is the best portable craft project and I'm thinking of staring with a neck warmer in a nice turquoise wool yarn. But all these are projects (click on the picture to see how made all these things)that I would like to make one day. It's also funny how you can see what my favourite colours are here!

Take care, I'll be back here in three weeks with lots of pictures from our trip in Europe!

Thank you!

Thank you for all the comments on the Vacation blogparty!
It was so much fun to see so many different vacation locations. Mr J starts his summer vacation on Monday and we where so inspired to go somewhere, so yesterday I booked and planed our 16 days of interrailing in central Europe! Yes, we are leaving on Tuesday and are going to Mainz (city in Germany), Vienna, Budapest, Warsaw and and finishing off in Berlin! This is all new cities for me and I'm so exited! I have a lot of plans for blogging while I'm out, I'm going to learn how to blog from my cellphone....I saw that it had this function a couple of weeks ago and started to think about how it really works...we'll see if I figure it out!

Have a great weekend!

V A C A T I O N !!

My dream vacation is a trip that we took two years ago and a place that I would love to go back to again and again; Bali
For the first couple of days I like to stay at the hotel and just relax. Walk around the hotel area, stay by the pool and read!
It's easy to relax when the surroundings look like this...
After a couple of days I get restless! I have to see more of this beautiful island! And what more suiting than to see temples when yo are in Bali?! What beautiful views!
The royal temple: entrance
The royal temple area, with the beautiful temple building with multistoried roof and Balinese Architecture.
You can't go to a warm Asian country without enjoying at least one sunset! This is from Kuta beach the party place in Bali!
We stayed in all sorts of hotels, but even in the simplest of place the bed looked like this! I loved their interior designs ans wished I could ship it home...
This is a picture from a day when we where walking the streets of the shopping town Ubud. This was a wedding party and just before I took this picture the street was full with people dressed in all colours and happy faces!
This is me, sitting at a café and reading in our Lonely planet about our next destination. It really is the best companion for travelling on your own!
Ubud is the ultimate shopping place in Bali. Here I bought lots of beads to make my own jewellery with and books and little spa gifts for the people at home!
Back to the beach, here I'm waiting for Mr J to finish his jet skii adventure. He was so happy after those 15 minutes on a jet....:-)
Rice fields, is also something you have to see when you are in Bali!
More hidden temples!
and beautiful views!
Colourful flowers!
and green...
Last but not least...drinks! Remember to drink a lot when the weather is hot:-) Well, not so much this kind of drink...But it's never wrong with a Long island ice tea, you are on an island and icetea is good! Hope you'll enjoyed my dream vacation, now I'm off to see more dream destinations! Join in the fun!

Home from Gotland

We are back from a beautiful trip to Gotland, an island here in Sweden. We celebrated midsummer/summer solstice there and had lovely weather and a great time! In the mean time there has been a travelling feast here in blogland and I have had lots of visitors here! Thank you all for commenting, I'm trying to get around to everyone and see their part of the world!

This is a long stone ship from circa 500 AD, Gotland has lots of these all over. This was placed in a field with horses!
Here I'm standing by the ring wall that goes all around the town, Visby. It's from around the 12th century!
This is a rauk which is a Swedish word for a stone column created by natural erosion, many of the rauks in Fårö have been eroded into unusual shapes.
This was the only bad weather we had the whole weekend and it never got any closer. But it gave us a beautiful view!

Now you got a second view of what my country looks like! There are a lot of beautiful places here and I would love to see more of my own country but I also love to travel. That why it's so good that another friend blogger of mine is having this: Let's go on vacation! on Thursday! You can travel without leaving your place in front of the computer!
