New cards

I made some new cards yesterday with buttons and butterflies. But I like the butterflies best, I don't think that I should have glued on the buttons but sewed them on instead.
I used some old wallpaper that I bought in Copenhagen for a lot of money (I should look for wallpaper in thrift stores instead...) and buttons from my mothers stash.
Can I just say that I love buttons, and wish that I had my own stash! Out of happiness, I made button art out of some of her buttons. Go and see it on my flickr.

I should also look for old buttons in thrift stores! But until then, I'll hang a lot at my mothers;-) There is a lot of reasons to be at her place and not mine, fabrics, yarn and she has a sewing machine!....and she cooks great food...:-)

I also have to tell you that my name was drawn in a blog party-thingy and now Tyn is going to send a little package for me in the mail! I can't wait! ;-)
Craft on everybody!

Looking at things from a distance

A while back I made a chandelier out of steel wire and pink coloured beads. When I was finished with it I didn't like it as much as I had hoped for...That can happen some times when working on a project for a long time...
So, I gave it to my mother, she always like what I do (I guess that comes with being a mother..) She hung it in her study and put multi coloured candles in it. Today I looked at it again and liked it! ;-) Not so much that I want it back ;-) but pleased that she like it and that she made something good looking out of it!
Sometimes you just need some distance to what you're working on and then you start to see the beauty of it!

Now I want to make a new one that looks even better! I could hang it on our balcony in spring time, It would look perfect there! I'll let you know how the project turns out in the future!
Now, I'm going to bed! Good night all!

Knitting...

Yesterday I just continued to knit on my scarf but still there is a long way to go...I love the colour more and more but I think I'm using too big (5) needles for the yarn (vivaldi) but on the other hand the pattern calls for size 5, so I do as the patterns says...Do I have to say that I'm a beginner at knitting..;-)

Thank you all for your nice comments, both new and old!
Have a nice Saturday, I'll be back on Monday!

lying in my bed and dreaming of things that I want...

These last couple of days I have been spending a lot of time in front of the computer. There is so much out there for me to discover! Other blogs, shops and creative peoples crafts. I decided to share with you some of my favourite sites.

I love everything the has to do with beautiful jewellery whether I make them myself or I buy it from someone else. In my search for more places to buy jewellery internet has been a great help. Here are two of my favourites that I go to regularly, Pilgrim is a Danish company that I discovered years ago and now they are really big here in Sweden. It's feminine jewellery that never goes out of style, I think. And a piece of jewellery from them are always on my wish list!;-) Now lately I also discovered a less famous designer is Abigail A. Percy she has a small shop online and sell the most extraordinary pieces of art! For my birthday next week I would love to have this ring. Go and have a look at her flickr as well!! :-)

Clothes, are also something that I like, clothes that have something extra and another Danish company has captured my interest here Noa noa. I like the vintage look of the new clothes and even the season catalogue that comes out each season is enough for giving me inspiration in what to wear! This is also on my wish list;-)

At the moment I go to a ceramics course on Monday nights and I love it! But sometimes I have to have some kind of inspiration on what to make, so that I don't feel that I'm wasting my time there. Also this time a Danish designer has inspired me they are called Casalinga.
They make both jewellery and kitchen china in light pastel colours with small details on. They have a shop in Copenhagen so if you're ever in Copenhagen and want to buy something handmade and beautiful, go there! And I have taken some of there ideas and made them in my course, hope that is OK with them...well, I'm not going to sell it and it's not even as good as their work...I'll post a picture of that soon too.

Last but not least, there is a really good illustrator, Ana, that has a blog but it's in Spanish and I don't speak Spanish but I love to go there and look at her pictures and guess what she is writing;-) Go there you to!

Ok, hope that this hasn't been to boring to read and that you will go and visit some of these sites. Have a great weekend and happy crafting!

New yarns!!

A couple of weeks ago my mother and I ordered yarn from this site. We where thrilled about the good prices and the wide range of colours and ordered a whole bunch of yarns. I have started to knit a scarf and I think that I'm going to make a cardigan, we'll see. The greens are mine and the others are my mothers. I'll post a picture of what she is making later too.

I love this colour!
